This week, I posted a story on The Weekender Blog, about my encounter with sea lions and seals in the waters off of Ventura Harbor.
I thought it would be appropriate to post a few photos of sea lions on The Daily Toki, because they are the big, friendly puppy dogs of the diving world. Juvenile sea lions are extremely curious, and they’ll often put on a show and ham it up for the camera.
This little guy hung out with us for a while. I think he was hoping we’d play with him.
For more photos from my dive, and a story about the baby harbor seal that I met during the trip, you can check out the whole story at The Weekender Blog: The one that got away.
Fantastic photos! I’ll check out the whole story at the Weekender Blog.

Why thank you! By the way – you have a fascinating website. I didn’t realize how much there was to know about pistol shrimp!
Thanks! They’re really amazing having very tiny in size and very powerful super weapon. 🙂
I don’t know how I managed to come across this blog, but the photographs (The one that got away) are really amazing, lucky people getting to experience that! I’d never get in the Scottish waters but that looks great 🙂
Thanks so much! The underwater world just off the coast of Southern California is pretty special indeed. : )
