Last week, we took Toki for her annual checkup and vaccinations, and it brought to mind the last time we ventured into the vet’s office.
This photo is from a post almost one year ago, during Toki’s last round of puppy shots. Oh, she was so cute! And little! I love the expression on her face here. We carried her in (I think we were paranoid about her getting sick before she was fully immune), but I don’t think she minded. I think she needed our reassuring hug.
They grow up so fast . . .
they do grow up fast. Cute photo, I can understand the not wanting to get her sick before she was immune. I hate seeing young puppies all over creation when they are not old enough to be safely out. Kudos to you for being responsible.

People in the waiting room looked at us funny, but we figured better safe than sorry!
To me, this photo is imbued with a lot of emotion (good call on applying a sepia tone)—no wonder it’s bringing back for you fond memories of Toki’s puppy days. She is a cutie! And it absolutely made sense for you guys to carry Toki in—germies are a serious thing! This post is a good reminder for me to check when Maple is due for her next trip to the vet’s 😉
this is so freaking adorable, i love this photo
That’s what is great about having mini Dachshunds….they stay small forever! 🙂
And they fit in your lap forever too! Wish Toki could still be a lapdog. . .
Oh my goodness, hilarious. She is actually holding on, BOL
