Last week, fellow Venetian, friend, and professional photographer Heather McLaughlin came over for a photoshoot with Miss Toki and me! It was our first professional portrait session, and I couldn’t have been in better hands.
For our session, Heather and I both brought out the big guns: she brought a suitcase full of her photo equipment and a list of ideas for the shoot. I brought out the Trader Joe’s Turkey Meatballs and handfuls of string cheese . . .
We had a grand time playing in the courtyard and trying to keep Toki’s attention with an array of meaty treats and squeakers. She kept taking breaks to chew on the grass and sniff in the succulents, but that was to be expected. : )
This is only one of the photos that Heather took during our session – more are posted on her blog, and they’re awesome! Check out her portfolio (everyone from professional chefs to professional wrestlers) and her blog post on our portrait session. When you get there, I’d love to hear what were your favorite photos! (It’s too hard for me to decide!)
Thanks for an awesome day of shooting, Christine and toki! I had such a blast working with you.
Thanks Heather!! I’m so happy we set up the shoot! You really captured Toki’s fun spirit in the photos, and it’s sooo nice to have these wonderful portraits of both of us. Especially because I spend so much time snapping photos of her, but usually never find my way into the photos with her. It was very relaxing to be in your capable hands, and the results speak for themselves! I love them all!
Awesome! What a great picture

We had an amazing time with our photographer, Heather, directing!
Nice shoes!

Beautiful photo! And an awesome choice of outfit, Christine! Love the contrast 😀
Lovely photo!! And I LOVE your shoes 🙂
Thanks!! I was excited that I got to break those out for the shoot. : )
I absolutely love those photos especially the bottom one of you and Toki on her blog post.
Also I’m embarrassed to say that this is the first time that I realized Toki was a girl and not a boy. Oops! Sorry Toki!
Haha – don’t worry. She’s a bit of a tomboy, so she has that effect on people!
