Skateboards on my mind: GoPetBoards

I’ve got skateboards on my mind…

For the little dog in your life, the GoPetBoard is an ingenious solution to taking your dog with you on bike rides around town.  On busy streets and the crowded Venice boardwalk, I would be nervous about having Toki run next to me on my bike.  I’d be afraid that someone wouldn’t see her and maybe run into her, or step on her toes!  This skateboard-on-a-bike solution would be a great option . . . if only she’d fit on the board.

I met the GoPetBoard founders at the Pet Expo in Orange County.  They came up with the board as a solution to bringing their Jack Russel Nomi (pictured above) on their bike ride through Yosemite National Park.

Here are a few more pictures of their product, which comes in both a flat and curved version.  It probably works best on a beach cruiser or hybrid-type of bike, so you have enough room to accommodate your pup (or cat, or . . . ?).

To see it in action, you can check out this video from GoPetBoards:

The couple who make the boards, Raymond and Somer, are super nice.  I’m sure they’d love it if you stopped by their Facebook Page and said hi!

  3. Wow! What a cool invention for small dogs. We like taking Gus with us whenever we can, so this is a great way for him to be able to enjoy a bike ride, too. Although, the paranoia in me would probably make me super worried about him falling off.

Nomi is adorable and obviously loves her bike rides. 🙂

We were also concerned about our dog falling off, so it is not recommended that dogs ride our boards without being harnessed. If you are interested in getting a board, please email us and we can explain more to you about the boards and the safety precautions. You can also visit our website for more information. Thank you!
