Book Review: Slum Dogs of India by Eloise Leyden

A dog rests on the steps inside an Armenian church compound in the middle of old Dhaka, Bangladesh

While browsing at Hennessey & Ingalls, an art and architecture bookstore in Santa Monica, I spotted a small book with an intriguing title lying on one of the tables.  It was called Slum Dogs of India.  It’s a photographic account of the many dogs that the author met during her time in India.  The book is so fun to read, I flipped through the entire book and then bought it so that I could read it all over again.  The Dog Art Today website provides a more thorough review of the book along with samples of the photography.  (The picture above is from my own 2005 trip to Bangladesh.)
