In honor of the waning summer, I wanted to post some amazing underwater shots from professional pet photographer Seth Casteel. He actually lives in Los Angeles, so it seems appropriate that he has a healthy collection of pool and beach shots in his portfolio.
These images give us an entirely new perspective on our canine friends. Alligators? Snapping turtles? Crazed barracudas? Or maybe a friendly sea lion? Nope. They’re water-loving, diving dogs!
To see Seth’s entire collection of pet photos, including some crazy underwater shots, check out his website and gallery. These shots were posted on his blog, where you find out a little more about the dogs behind the photos.
Hey! It’s an over-under shot! I’ve been working on those during my scuba dive photo trips. (Hopefully, I’ll post some of those dive photos on TheWeekenderBlog soon . . . )
Finally, I’ll leave you with a final photo from Seth’s blog. I’ve noticed he has a particular talent for teasing out the doggie smiles from his photo subjects.
Seth is such an interesting guy, I’ve planned a second post tomorrow to tell you about his work on Second Chance Photos. Stay tuned!

That’s awesome! I never would’ve thought about the shooting subject of underwater dogs lol
I know! Love the way the dogs transform into something less dog-like when underwater.
Yeah that really is crazy, shows a instinctual side and playful side.
